Top 5 Ways to Manage Infection Control
Presenter: Gary D. Morgan, CDT, CQA/A SQ
Friday, May 4 from 8:00 - 9:00 AM
Credit Hours: 1

morgan.JPGWhether you’ve been in business for a long time or just opening your business, you must address the prevention and control of communicable diseases in the workplace as a part of your health and safety program. New diseases are emerging and recognized diseases are re-emerging. How you prevent your workers’ exposure to these diseases is the basis for OSHA’s Exposure Control Plan. The presenter for this course will examine the practices that must be in place in order to protect workers from exposures when working with and around potentially infectious items. Details that will be addressed in this course are safe work practices, engineering controls, use of personal protective equipment, and post-exposure management. Prevent cross-contamination so your employees can work in a safe and healthy workplace.

Mr. Morgan is the Senior Vice President of SafeLink Consulting Inc, a nationally recognized safety and quality consulting firm. Gary began lecturing on health and safety in 1989 and is an Authorized Trainer under OSHA’s Outreach Program. He has actively participated as a presenter and on-site instructor to audiences of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and dental laboratory technicians throughout the US. Gary is also a DAMAS consultant and auditor and is a Certified Quality Auditor by the American Society for Quality.  Gary is a Certified Dental Technician and has served the Dental Laboratory Association of Texas on its Board of Directors, as President, and as Legislative and Legal Affairs Chairman. Are Your Infection Prevention Practices Really Effective?
Presenter: Gary D. Morgan, CDT, CQA/A SQ
Friday, May 4 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Credit Hours: 3

morgan.jpgHaving written infection control procedures is important, however, ensuring that they are current and are being followed is critical to worker and patient safety. The CDC recommends that employers review their infection prevention practices on a regular basis. Appointing an Infection Prevention Coordinator (IPC) to assume this responsibility provides accountability to ensure that regular monitoring is being performed. This course will review infection control practices specific to dental practices and dental laboratories. Gary D. Morgan, CDT, CQA/ASQ will review how to assess your current infection prevention practices in order to determine their effectiveness.
